Nhyira

Nhyira, 5, is deaf and blind and lives with cerebral palsy and a severely curved spine. Surgery at FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital in Accra could straighten her spine enough for her to sit properly and reach further developmental milestones. She is raised by her grandfather, Emmanuel Asante, who cannot afford the procedure or her ongoing physiotherapy and medication on his own. This is her own real, ongoing appeal, organised by Ama Boamaah Ahene after learning of Nhyira's story through media coverage — goal £5,000 (~GHS 97,500).
