Children's heart surgery fund

High
Congenital heart defects (“hole in the heart”) needing surgery

At Ghana's National Cardiothoracic Centre in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, children born with congenital heart defects such as a “hole in the heart” wait for surgery that costs between $6,000 and $13,000 — far beyond what most families can afford. Charitable partners including the Children's Heart Foundation Ghana have helped more than 250 children receive life-saving operations, but dozens more remain on the waiting list, where every delay raises the risk to their lives. This fund supports those surgeries; contributions help clear the backlog of waiting children.
