Rural breast-cancer screening outreach
MediumBreast Care International (BCI), founded in 2002 by breast surgeon Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, brings free breast-cancer education and screening to deprived and rural communities across Ghana. Its outreach has reached tens of thousands of women, catching disease early where cases are too often found late, and it provides medical sponsorship for patients in dire need of drugs and treatment. Screening and treatment are delivered through the Peace and Love Hospitals in Kumasi and Accra. This is BCI's own programme; contributions help fund screening outreach and patient support.
